Starting his music career in 1995 no one could have predicted the dance phenomenon Sash! would become. Beginning with the track ‘It’s My Life’, this soon became THE tune for any DJ to play. Quickly becoming an underground dance anthem throughout Europe, Sash! eagerly followed this with the anthemic & uplifting instrumental which would become ‘Encore Une Fois’. Enlisting the help of French vocalist Sabine Ohmes, ‘Encore Une Fois’ eclipsed the success of ‘It’s My Life’ and crossed over to become THE trance anthem of our generation. Released in 1997 it stormed to No.2 in the UK chart and received a gold award, surpassing anyone’s expectations. The anthems kept coming with ‘Ecuador’ matching the success of ‘Encore Une Fois’. Hot on the heels of two dance smashes came the debut album ‘It’s My Life.’ Confirming Sash! as dance royalty, the debut album received a platinum award and spawned a further hit, ‘Stay’. With its euphoric ‘I Had A Dream Last Night...’ vocal, it became the third Sash! hit to peak at No.2 & receive a gold award in the process– the results were groundbreaking.
Sash! began 1998 with a bang. Receiving a Brit Award nomination for Best International Male & the new cut ‘La Primavera’ exploding into the Top 3, the success continued. A chance meeting with Tina Cousins, one of UK’s biggest dance starlets with her debut ‘Killin Time’, resulted in one of Sash’s best loved tracks, ‘Mysterious Times’. The lead single from the silver album ‘Life Goes On’, ‘Mysterious Times’ reached number 2 & it too received a silver award. Two more tracks were lifted from ‘Life Goes On’, ‘Move Mania’ featuring house legend Shannon & the uplifting ‘Color The World’ followed in 1999.
Waiting until the millennium to unleash new material, ‘Adelante’ propelled Sash! back onto the dancefloors and into the charts. Yet another No.2 smash, Sash! now holds the record for the most number 2 records in the UK chart, ever, without having a number 1 single. Work began on the third album & fresh from the success of their previous collaboration, Tina Cousins was back to put her voice to ‘Just Around The Hill’. With the classic dance & chilled versions the track signalled a new sound for Sash! and yet another Top 10 smash. Sash’s third album ‘Trillenium’ followed and ‘With My Own Eyes’ once again saw Sash! back in the Top 10!
Sash’s triumphant return to the UK charts in 2008 saw him back once again in the Top 10 with ‘Raindrops’ (Encore Une Fois) and this time collaborating with the amazing Stunt. This launched the huge selling platinum ‘Best of’ and saw Sash! tour the whole of the UK on the Dance Nation Arena Tour 2009! Spending most of last year writing and recording his new album, the lead single ‘All Is Love’ featuring Jessy, is ready to be launched in 2010!
